The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society was recently awarded a $17,000 grant from Petco Love, a nonprofit formerly known as the Petco Foundation.

Executive Director Dawn Davies said the lifesaving work they do for animals in Chelan and Douglas counties is costly and couldn't be done without the support of foundations like Petco Love.

"That will go into things like our spay and neuter clinic, help cats that need a little extra care, our behavior modification team, and also our cat foster team." explained Davies, "Right now it is litter season and we have a lot of kittens out in foster (care)."

Davies added that there is no time limit for pets in their care, just as there is no limit on how much care staff and volunteers are willing to give them.
