The Wenatchee Wild have a chance to finish the season with a winning record after sweeping three games against the Trail Smoke Eaters over the weekend at the Town Toyota Center.

Saturday's 6-2 win over Trail was highlighted by a goal from the only Wild player who hadn’t scored during the season, Connor Overson.

The Wild also beat the Smoke Eaters 3-1 Friday and 6-2 Thursday.

They're locked into the #7 slot in the playoffs, and a first-round best-of-seven series against the #2 seed Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Wild Head Coach Chris Clark says the team played consistently through the three-game series.

“Our guys did a great job sticking with the game plan all weekend," said Clark. "We got contributions from all 4 lines and all 6 D. Andy (Vlaha) played excellent as well. We need to bring the same mind set as we continue to prepare for the playoffs.”

The Wild have three games left in the regular season, including their last home game Wednesday at 6 pm against the Penticton Vees.

They'll finish off on the road with another game at Trail on Friday, followed by the season finale Saturday at Cranbrook.

The Wild are now 22-24-5, and could finish the regular season with a winning record with a sweep of the last three games.
