The Salmon Arm Silverbacks posted a 6-2-win Sunday night over the Wenatchee Wild to go up 2 games to none in their best-of-seven playoff series.

Wenatchee heavily outshot Salmon Arm at the end, but couldn’t recover after falling far behind early.

Goalie Tyler Shea was pulled midway through the second period for backup Andy Vlaha.

Wild Head Coach Chris Clark said the game got away from them early in the second period.

"First and last minutes of periods are so important for setting the tempo. Give Salmon Arm credit as they made the most of their opportunities," said Clark. "They did their part in winning at home now we have to do the same starting Tuesday night at the TTC. We will regroup and be ready to go at home.”

The series returns to Wenatchee Tuesday and Wednesday for Games 3 and 4.

On a positive note, Wild forward Cade Littler has been named as one of three finalists for the BCHL Rookie of the Year award, which is voted on by the 18 Head Coaches in the BCHL.
