The Wenatchee Wild lost two tight games to open their home schedule this year.

West Kelowna beat the Wild 4-3 Friday night at Town Toyota Center after taking the home opener from Wenatchee in overtime Thursday night 5-4.

The Wild have the next four days off before starting a three game road trip to Nanaimo, Victoria and Langley.

They'll next play here in Wenatchee on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

The two home opening games at Town Toyota Center were among the most well attended games involving the Wild this season. A crowd of 1,927 Thursday was followed by 2,667 fans in the stands Friday, marking the largest attendance of any games involving the Wild.

Team management has been concerned that the state's vaccination requirement for all people attending events of 1,000 or more could negatively impact attendance.

Wenatchee is the only American team in the British Columbia based BCHL. The team was forced to play its first eight games on the road because of COVID-19 travel restraints at the U.S.-Canada border.
