Wish Poosh Campground Closed Early

The U.S. Forest Service announced that the Wish Poosh Campground located near Lake Cle Elum has closed for the season early after several recent aggressive bear/camper encounters.

The area was set to close next week for construction work that was to last through next May, but Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest personnel say public safety is their top concern and recent bear activity forced the change.

The USFS posted an apology on their Facebook page that this is closing prior to the Labor Day weekend.
