The 2021 Washington State Legislative session wrapped up Sunday with the passing of the three major bugets, operating, capital and transportation.

12th District Rep. Keith Goehner says while there was some positive in the operating budget, he could not support it noting, "The minority party was left out of the budget negotiations, and we, along with the public, did not see the final 1,100-page budget document until Day 104 of the 105-day session. Our state government needs to be more transparent and accountable."

He also expressed reservations about the amount of spending.

12th Rep. Mike Steele was far more positive about the capital budget saying, "House and Senate legislators, from both sides of the aisle, prioritized projects that not only advance ongoing economic recovery efforts but also long-term renewal, health, and growth for rural communities and urban centers alike."
