The job picture in Chelan County is bright. Chelan, King, San Juan and Asotin County were the only counties in the state with unemployment rates under 4 percent in June. The Chelan County June jobless figure stood at 3.9 percent, Douglas County at 4.3 percent and Grant County at 4.7percent.

Employment Security for Washington State reported overall unemployment was unchanged from May at 4.5 percent.

Jobs are still a concern in Okanogan County with the highest rate in Central Washington at 5.3 percent. However, neighboring Ferry County suffers with the worst unemployment in the state at 9.9 percent of the workforce out of a job.
