The “mystery sheen” caused by an apparent fuel spill on the Columbia River near Wenatchee is thought to have appeared March 15th, two days before it was reported, according to the World. Investigators from the state Department of Ecology are searching for the source of the sheen, which was reported Friday by pedestrians crossing the Pipeline Pedestrian Bridge. Ecology officials Tuesday reviewed recordings of the river from Chelan County PUD surveillance cameras.
