Burn bans will start in several counties around Eastern Washington on Monday.

In Chelan County, open burning will be prohibited beginning June 1st, including vegetation and natural debris. Recreational campfires are permitted at private residences, campgrounds and in approved campfire areas.

Douglas County's burn ban also begins Monday with an ag burns requiring permission and also regulates how far any permitted burn needs to be from structures or dwellings.

In Grant County, no burning is permitted beginning Monday unless it's an Ecology-approved agriculture burn. Recreational fires and cooking fires are approved during this time if using approved devices and have a space of 25’ of non-combustible space surrounding the fire pit, you must also have a charged hose available for use.
