Under the leadership of Shelley Rotondo, Northwest Harvest expanded to offer more meals and more services in more locations, and now the CEO of 16 years has announced she is retiring.

Communications Manager Jordan Rubin says she was pivotal for areas like North Central Washington.

"Everything is on such a community level there and I think that's really what Shelley was passionate about is making sure that we were meeting the specific needs of that community.

That included understanding the area, the demographics and building partnerships to distribute the food through banks and at schools, but also working with farmers and the ag community for donations. But that's not the only praise Rubin heaped on the retiring CEO.

"The vision she had from taking it beyond a distributor of food to get out to food banks and different programs and really look at it from a more holistic standpoint of really helping those in need with their overall health and nutrition."

Northwest Harvest has begun the process of finding their next CEO.
