Now’s the Time to Prepare for Wildfire Season

Although wildfire season is already underway, it will start to ramp up in the coming weeks and the Grant County Sheriff's Office is reminding residents to be prepared.

Ahead of any fires, you can review your evacuation plan checklist and ensure that you have an emergency supply kit in your vehicle.

If you are asked to evacuate, wear clothing to protect from heat and embers such as long pants and shirts, heavy boots and cover your face and eyes.

Also make sure to locate your pets and take them with you.

There will be three levels of evacuation notices provided through the season.

Level 1 is the Get Ready stage. Level 2 is the Get Set stage when everything irreplaceable is in your vehicle. Level 3 is when you get your family and pets and leave immediately.
