The search in Lake Chelan for a missing a swimmer was suspended at approximately 8:30pm Tuesday evening by the Chelan County Sheriff's Office.  The unidentified 23-year-old male is presumed drowned according to Rich Magnussen with the Chelan County Sheriff''s Office of Emergency Management.   A recovery effort involving dive teams with underwater cameras was scheduled to get underway at 10am Wednesday morning.

The man was reported missing about 3:20pm Tuesday near Lakeside Park after jumping into the lake from a boat.  Witnesses reported seeing the the missing man struggle before disappearing beneath the surface.

Rescue crews from Chelan County began looking for a missing swimmer in Lake Chelan around 3:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

At least a dozen people were on the lake including in boats and rescue swimmers as of 4 p.m.

The person missing is believed to have been swimming near Lakeside Park.
