Chelan County Public Works announced that contractor, Batchelor Excavating of Manson, began removing debris from the catch basin and channels at Slide Ridge on South Lakeshore Road Monday. The $130,054 contract awarded in August was prompted by a July 2nd landslide and was estimated to haul 8,500 cubic yards of debris, however the September 10th landslide added additional debris to the area. Batchelor will remove the material as well as re-shape and grade the two channels along with cleaning a large culvert that goes under the roadway.

No traffic impact is expected and work is scheduled until mid-October.
