The Brave Warrior Project, an organization that offers programs and a sense of community to families with children that have developmental disorders, chronic health care needs and cancer, is hosting its third annual Super Hero Walk on October 5. The event, sponsored by Molina Health Care, has an optional dress code to come to the walk as a favorite superhero.

"Families and kids can dress up in costumes to come and walk to raise money for the Brave Warrior Project and help raise awareness for disability, cancer and chronic illness," said Erica Moshe, founder.

All proceeds from the event go to support the various programs that Brave Warrior Project offers, such as the art and music programs, gas cards and financial support for families.

"They can sign up through our website," said Moshe. "It's all by donation, there's no amount too small and no amount too big."

The event is from 12-3 at Riverfront Park with the walk kicking off at 12:15.
