Tourism is a hot topic in Chelan County, from overnight rentals to its heavy impact on the local economy. The 4th Annual Tourism Summit, hosted by NCW Economic Development District (NCEDD)  is Thursday, February 6 however tickets are on sale now until the max capacity, 180 folks, is filled.

"The idea is to get our region to come together and collaborate and talk about the diverse tourism that North Central Washington offers," said Alyce Brown, events manager. NCEDD encompasses Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan counties and the Colville Confederated Tribes.

Topics covered during the conference include NCW travel trends, Airbnbs and regional tourism impact. There will be handful of professionals in the tourism field speaking at the event including Chelan County Economic Development Director, Blake Baldwin and Executive Director of Cascade Loop, Annette Pitts.

"There's a lot of smaller communities that are struggling with creating their destination development strategies and marketing plans. So we hope that by coming together and collaborating, talking and sharing ideas and hearing about what we can project for 2020 that'll help folks," said Brown.

Tickets are $75 per person for the inclusion of breakfast and lunch or $45 per person for either morning or afternoon session without breakfast and lunch included. The all day event, 8-5, will be at the Hilton Garden Inn.
