Two aviation-related bills sponsored by 13th District Representative Tom Dent have been introduced in the state legislature.

The Republican says one would make the Community Airport Revitalization Board, or CARB, loan program permanent.

It was created two years ago with $5 million but is set to expire this year.

The second would extend a commission looking at the future of travel from the Evergreen State.

Dent says they created the group in 2019 to study the feasibility of constructing a new commercial airport or modifying an existing airport to reduce the pressure on Sea-Tac.

He says the pandemic has delayed their work and he wants to address that.
