Grant County Reporting Several Outbreaks at Long Term Care Facilities, Nine Dead

The Grant County Health District reported Friday that it received confirmation of COVID associated deaths of nine residents of McKay Healthcare & Rehab Center in Soap Lake.

According to the health district, five death certificates have confirmed COVID-19 associated death and 4 are pending. The confirmed deaths include 4 females in their 60s, 80s, and 90s, and a male in his 80s.

The five confirmed deaths bring Grant County's total to 32.

No McKay residents are currently hospitalized.

Two other long term care centers have reported outbreaks, both in Moses Lake. Lake Ridge Center is reporting 49 residents and 12 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19, while Columbia Crest reported 25 residents and 22 staff are positive for the virus.
