The Snow Lakes Trail will close soon so crews can remove and replace the old trail bridge.

Okanogan-Wenatchee Public Affairs Officer Robin DeMario said the date for the start of the closure has not yet been determined, but should be between January 15th and March 7th depending on conditions. The trail will be closed at the trailhead, but the bridge is situated a few hundred feet to the south.

"The bridgework is going to occur so that they can make some improvements and repairs to the fish screen in the irrigation canal, which is located about a quarter mile from the trailhead." explained DeMario, "The old screen is outdated and needs to be replaced to ensure better fish survival."

Chelan County, in coordination with the Icicle Peshastin Irrigation District, will be contracting out the work to replace the bridge.
