PUD Commissioners voted at their last meeting to eliminate a new customer fee it charges to internet service providers.

Residents can help by bringing canned food items to the the iFIBER Communications local office in the 100 block of Basin Street in downtown Ephrata.

PUD commissioners have approved a $3.2 million contract renewal with Cascade Cable Contractors to install the cable.

Ziply will take over iFIBER's operation delivering internet and digital phone services to 18,000 customers, including in Chelan Douglas and Grant counties.
