19-year-old Leonardo Cervantes-Ramirez of Orondo was traveling northbound on the highway near Turtle Rock Road, when he crossed over to the opposite shoulder and hit the tree.

Trooper Jeremy Weber says a Honda heading from Zanal Loop Rd. onto northbound U.S. 97 took the turn to wide and hit a car that was southbound on the highway.
