Chelan County will have just the second woman on their Board of Commissioners ever with Tiffany Gering winning the seat. Updated numbers were released Friday and based on the amount of votes left to count, Gering will represent District 3.

"I think that people were ready for a change and ready for a woman to be in office. I think that our leaders should be representative of what we look like in our county and there are a lot of women in our county. It's an incredible honor."

She also expressed a lot of gratitude to all of the people who helped her during the campaign and voted for her.

Dale England was understandably disappointed as he came up just a few hundred votes short of filling his brother's spot.

"Seeing the numbers, I realized that I'm not going to win, but I think we put it out there and gave people a choice. I appreciate all who supported us and I wish her the best of luck."

There are less than 500 ballots left to count with the final numbers announced on November 24th when the vote is certified.
