The Wenatchee Art Education Consortium is holding a second design event for the Pathways Mural project at the Wenatchee Community Center Wednesday at 5:00 pm.

Wenatchee Art Education Consortium board member Sara Rolfs said the project is part of the remodeling of the community center at 504 South Chelan by Pinnacles Prep. The mural will stretch the entire north-south length of the parking lot, connecting the main three-structure campus to the maker space on the south end of the property.

"They're going to have a maker space over at the double wide." explained Rolfs, "We're trying to guide safe pedestrian traffic over there for not only the kids during the school day, but then there's going to be a myriad of other community-based organizations that are going to do programing out of that maker space."

Local artist Terry Valdez will encourage attendees to draw out ideas for the pathways mural. A core group of youth will then work with Valdez to generate a few designs for the community to vote on in May.

Those interest in attending are asked to contact Sara Rolfs at sarafolfs@nwi.

Painting is set for August. A short documentary on the creation of the mural will be premiered locally in October.
