Regional Labor Economist Don Meseck says there is some good and concerning news in the recently released August employment numbers for the Wenatchee Metropolitan Statistical Area, or MSA.

Unemployment rates have risen for nine straight months through August, but are still relatively low compared to similar months over the past 10 years.

Meseck also noted that job growth in the area has been behind the state average for nearly a year, but did have a near seven year streak of stable or growth in the market that was broken in March this year, but immediately started a new positive streak in April.
