Blast Caps Unearthed Near Gorge Amphitheatre

Grant County Sheriff's deputies were alerted to unearthed blasting caps near the Cave B Winery and the Gorge Amphitheatre Wednesday afternoon. The caps were discovered by a telecommunications crew conducting excavation work.

According to public information officer, Kyle Foreman, Washington State Patrol bomb squad responded, did an assessment of the blasting caps and confirmed they were probably left over from construction on the Cave B property.

There was no threat to folks as long as people stayed 100 feet away. There was a standoff perimeter to remove those devices.

The property is back to being safe.
