The Chelan County PUD recently increased the rebates on energy efficient windows and insulation, in some cases doubling the previous amount.

Spokesperson Kimberlee Craig said the rebates are retroactive to January 1st, and were planned before the coronavirus outbreak.

"We were looking to make it more affordable for folks to replace inefficient, single-pane windows. Especially when the heat source is not a heat pump." Craig explained, "We also wanted to make it more affordable for homeowners who don't have any insulation maybe in their addicts or the walls and floors."

Attics, walls, or floors that currently have no insulation will see their rebates double to $1.00 per square foot.
