It's now easier for South Wenatchee stewardship group Parque Padrinos to hold events at Kiwanis Methow Park after the Wenatchee City Council approved a facility use agreement.

Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director David Erickson said Parque Padrinos, roughly 'Park Godparents' in Spanish, is planning on conducting a variety of programs and events at the park and the agreement was made to help clarify the group's roles, requirements and responsibilities.

"Instead of having them come forward each time (they have an event), we would start off at the start of the year and say, 'Tell us all the programs and projects and things that you would like to do. Let's just get them all worked out, schedule them all out.' At the start of the year it's a one-time process instead of maybe seven or eight different ones throughout the year," Erickson said.

The agreement is similar to those the city has with Wenatchee Youth Baseball, Pinnacles Prep and Velocity Swimming.
