Arts Washington and Downtown Moses Lake Association are inviting the community to pose questions and learn about the potential establishment of a creative district downtown on Friday. The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the Civic Center Auditorium.

"It's something that will hopefully benefit everybody in our community and even in surrounding communities," said Lexi Smith, Downtown Moses Lake Association director. "The point of a creative district is to really grow the creative sector in Moses Lake and bring different activities."

The downtown association has been circulating a survey throughout the community to gauge what residents would like to see within a creative district. The upcoming meeting will give folks an opportunity to hear from Arts Washington Program Director Annette Roth on creative districts in the state.

"I think a creative district would be beneficial to Moses Lake because the whole point of it is it opens you up to technical assistance, resources and funding," said Smith. "It brings signage and puts you on a different map that Moses Lake wasn't on before."
