The East Wenatchee Police Department is searching for the owners of more than a dozen items that were recovered from a suspected thief, including chainsaws, money, tools and car stereos.

Assistant Chief Erik Hampton said there has been an uptick in vehicle prowls and incidents of theft going back to February, with detectives and patrol officers going over video surveillance as much as possible.

"They noticed an adult female was involved in a couple of (incidents)." explained Hampton, "They eventually located the female and she gave up a place where all this stuff was."

The unidentified suspect was arrested on vehicle prowling and burglary charges.

If you have recently been a victim please contact the East Wenatchee Police Department (509-884-9511) and ask to speak to an officer. Those looking to recover any items must show proof of ownership.

The department says this is a good reminder to keep your vehicles locked and secure your belongings.
