A fire up Greens Canyon Road Sunday afternoon was contained at six acres by crews from Douglas, Chelan, and Okanogan Counties along with DNR and BLM.

Douglas County District 4 Chief Jim Oatey says the fire was burning in dry grass with strong winds pushing it up a hillside.

It was too remote to attack from the engines, so crews used hand tools, geographic rock screes and a light shower to achieve containment.

Oatey says the cause was a spark from target shooting. Those folks reported the blaze, and attempted to put it out.
