Former Washington State Attorney General candidate Matt Larkin announced last week that he plans to throw his hat in the ring again in 2022 and challenge 8th District Representative Kim Schrier.

Larkin said Washington State is headed in the wrong direction, as is the country, on several important issues like crime, drugs and homelessness.

"These (problems) are not specific to Seattle anymore and we can't keep ignoring them. We need leadership on them, but our leaders that we have elected won't doing anything." stated Larkin, "So that's why I'm standing up to do something about it. I'll be a voice for these issues."

Larkin has been heartened by the fact that, despite his loss to Bob Ferguson in 2020, he gained over 51% of the vote in the 8th District in what was considered a bad election for Republicans.
