There is a $725,000 funding shortfall in the way of the construction for a new Moses Lake food bank facility. Our news partner, iFiberone, reports that the Community Services of Moses Lake (CSML) is soliciting aide for construction costs to cover a new food bank, distribution facility, a terminal warehouse and food storage building. The total cost of the project is $2.8 million. A new distribution center would reportedly increase food safety, storage capacity and allow for efficient food transportation practices. Currently, the Moses Lake Food Bank distribution center is responsible for providing food to 33 food pantries across five counties.
