The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is closed for the forseeable future, but Public Affairs Officer Robin DeMario says that shouldn't stop you from getting out into nature.

"Now is a great time to discover nature and urban forests in your own neighborhood. Please delay travel to outdoor destinations as much as possible. We'll be here, ready for you, when it's much safer for all of us. We understand time outdoors is really important for mental and physical health but, for right now, explore locally and follow the CDC guidelines on social distancing."

The National Forest closed all developed recreational sites last Friday.
