Okanogan County Amongst Selected for Clean Water Loans

Craft3, a non-bank community lender and Washington Department of Ecology has expanded funding available for clean water loans to Okanogan County as of September 2019. These affordable Clean Water Loans are to alleviate the expensive cost of repairing or replacing failed septic systems.

"We're excited to be able to expand more funding for septic repairs across the state because we know that repairing a septic system can come at a large cost at times to homeowners," said Colleen Keltz, Department of Ecology.

Failing septic systems can cause sewage backing up which in turn can create a public health threat.

"By being able to repair and maintain your septic system, you're both protecting your own property investment and you're helping out with your local water quality, so we think it's fantastic we're able to expand this program," said Keltz.

The funding was also recently made available to Benton, Ferry, Franklin, Pend Oreille, Skagit and Stevens counties.
