Peshastin Water District Debrief Meeting Monday
From a Press Release - The Peshastin Water District will be hosting a debriefing meeting regarding our recent E. Coli incident on Monday, October 23, 4:00PM, at the Chelan County PUD auditorium in Leavenworth, 222 Chumstick Hwy.
We’ll discuss what happened, the steps taken to alleviate the problem, communication with the public, what was done well or could have been better, and what we are doing to prevent something like this from happening in the future. The public is invited to attend and comment.
The entire Peshastin water system has been disinfected, inspected, and tested, including by a team from the Washington State Department of Health, to once again be safe for consumption. All main lines have been flushed and weekly tests will continue through the next 30 days to monitor chlorine levels as the system is rebalanced.
It is suggested that, if customers have not already done so, all faucets should be flushed for 20-25 minutes to guarantee that the chlorination has reached all points. Accounts will be billed for the minimum service charge only for the month of October. There will be no additional quantity usage fees this month.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We all want to ensure safe drinking water for our community.
