The city of Quincy will celebrate the grand opening of their new high school Saturday.

Superintendent John Boyd said, "It's just an absolute honor and pleasure to be able to show that beautiful new building off to the community that has supported us so much from start to finish in this thing. It's a great joy of my professional career to be able to do that."

The grand opening will run from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the new Quincy High School, after the Quincy Farmer-Consumer Awareness Day (FCAD) celebrations conclude. A ribbon cutting will kick off the QHS event before attendees move into the new building for the rest of the festivities.

"Our school board is absolutely thrilled and we think, and others also think, that we have the nicest school in the state of Washington right now." added Boyd, "It's fun to be able to show that off to everybody who's been involved and everybody in the community that has supported us."

A formal ceremony will begin at 4:10 pm in the gym. At 5:00 pm, light horderves will be served and interested parties can inspect the new facility on a self-guided tour.
