Quincy School District is moving its kindergarten registration from February to April due to the pandemic.

Superintendent John Boyd said the district wants registration to be in-person if possible, so waiting a couple more months allows for either an outdoor event as the weather improves, or an indoor event if vaccinations become more widespread.

"Our elementary schools just really go out 100% to do a nice job of meeting, greeting and orienting. That's just better done in person," said Boyd.

Open enrollment is April 12th through 30th, and two registration events are now scheduled for April 15th and April 20th.

Parents with any questions are advised to call their school. If a parent does not know which school to call, contact the district office. The district will release more information as April approaches.
