Quincy elementary and middle school students will be offered summer school as an option to combat learning loss.

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Nik Bergman said the focus of the program will be centered around English language arts and math intervention. Teachers will also be integrating STEM activities throughout the session.

Parents have until the last day of school to sign up their grade K-8 students.

"We sent forms out to every student in the district and all parents need to do is contact their neighborhood school if they are interested." explained Bergman, "If they have the form, complete it and return it to their neighborhood school. If they've lost or misplaced the form, we're happy to give them another."

Bergman added they will be targeting 'the whole child', with counselors and STEAM specialists available in both the elementary and middle school program. The high school is developing a credit recovery program that will take place in the fall.
