Quincy School District recently announced it will begin the upcoming school year on a 100% remote learning model Mondays through Fridays.

In a letter on the district's website, Superintendent John Boyd said recommendations from the Grant County Health District and the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, as well as survey information that the district gathered from families and staff, informed this very difficult decision.

Quincy will work closely with the Health District to determine when a hybrid model that includes some in-person instruction is possible. The district expects to be in the at-home model through at least the first quarter, which ends October 30th.

Boyd said staff learned a lot from last spring, and have now created schedules that will help students better manage their coursework and connect with teachers.

The first day of school is September 2nd.
