Ritzville Republican Mark Schoesler Stepping Down from Leadership Role

Washington state Senate Minority Leader Mark Schoesler is stepping down.

A spokesperson confirmed Monday the Republican will step down from his leadership post to spend more time with his children, his grandchildren and his farm.

Schoesler will continue to serve as a rank-and-file lawmaker.

Republican state senators are expected to pick a new minority leader this week.
