8th District Representative Kim Schrier voted Wednesday for the Moving Forward Act, also known as the INVEST in America Act, the House’s $1.5 trillion infrastructure package.

According to a press release, Schrier says the act will rebuild infrastructure, invest in schools, modernize the energy infrastructure in the U.S. for a clean energy future, invest in affordable housing, and expand affordable high-speed internet to underserved communities.

Said Representative Schrier, " ... The Moving Forward Act is so critical right now. It is a bold infrastructure package that will put America back to work, create new jobs, expand broadband access, and invest in schools and tomorrow’s clean energy infrastructure.”

In addition, Schrier’s Legacy Roads and Trails bill that would assist the Forest Service with repairing culverts and forest roads passed with the Moving Forward Act.

Rep. Schrier also had an amendment pass that she says would ensure Washington’s small and medium sized public transit agencies have flexibility and predictability to continue to serve riders during this public health crisis.
