A lot of Washingtonians are hitting sno-parks during the winter as they look to get out of the house safely during the pandemic. Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Public Affairs Officer Robin DeMario says it's important to be prepared, for example they don't sell parking passes on site but must be purchased ahead of time.

"There's no garbage service at sno-parks. Plan on packing out all trash including broken sleds, water bottles, pet waste, etc."

DeMario says it's important to either get there early, or in the afternoon after others have left.

"If it's full, go someplace else. Don't park illegally, and if you can go on a weekday when the sno-park is not quite as full."

Washington State Parks' website sells the parking permits.
