Stevens Pass to Close Monday for Extended Avalanche Work

Stevens Pass will close Monday at 9:00 am for extended avalanche control work.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, US 2 will be closed in both directions from milepost 58 at Scenic to milepost 80, about five miles west of Cole's Corner.

Although WSDOT does not have an estimated time for reopening, it will provide an update at 1:00 pm following an evaluation of the amount of snow and debris that may need to be cleared from the highway. The department says an extended closure may become necessary.
