The Wenatchee School District recently received $1.4 million in CARES Act funding.

The funds will first be used to move the district to a 1:1 technology model that will assign all students a device for learning.

According to the district, additional CARES funds will be used for cleaning/sterilization equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) in preparation for the reopening of schools in the fall.

Operational and nursing staff are working through PPE needs to place an order for required PPE. The District is waiting for clarification on whether face shields will be allowable in lieu of masks.

COVID-expenses are being charged back to the CARES Act fund through August 31.
