The Washington State Department of Transportation is offering two opportunities for the public to learn more about an upcoming paving project on US 2 around the Richard Odabashian Bridge.

Communications Manager Lauren Loebsack said two virtual public events March 2nd will include information on the project and traffic control schedule. Questions will be answered after the 45 minute presentation.

"(The project) is going to grind out and put in new asphalt and fix some of the joints and the like on those bridge decks that are in need of repair." Loebsack explained, "This will preserve the overall life of this structure."

The first presentation is scheduled for 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm March 2nd, with the second presentation 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm the same day.

The project will stretch from roughly Easy Street in Wenatchee to Cascade Avenue in East Wenatchee. Work is scheduled to begin April 12th, with partial lane closures and night work beginning in May. The project is expected to be finished in July.
