The Washington State Department of Transportation is pausing most construction projects across the state, including the rock slope scaling project on Highway 97A.

The scaling project was scheduled to begin April 1st with associated day-long closures that were to start on the 6th.

Strider Construction will be doing the work, once that window reopens.

WSDOT says they have not written a new schedule, but will post one on the project's website when available.

The project is designed to reduce the risks of the adverse effects of unstable slopes.
