Chelan and Douglas Counties Dip Below 25 New COVID-19 Cases per 100,000 for Past 14 Days
For the second time in the past week, the Chelan, Douglas two-county area dipped below 25 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people over the past 14 day period.
The difference in the most updated numbers released Friday, is that now both counties are below that threshhold, Chelan at 24.6 and Douglas at 23.
That is one of the five key criteria the state uses when considering moving counties to the next phase of the "Safe Start" reopening plan.
The two-county area is also doing well in hospital capacity, only one person hospitalized with COVID-19, and then general readiness of the hospital system.
The current areas where the counties need to improve in involves testing in terms of total numbers of tests and percent of people coming back positive.
