Ballots for the August 3rd primary will be going out within the next week, and for the first time ever registered voters in Chelan County will also be getting a physical copy of a voters pamphlet.

Chelan County Auditor Skip Moore says they are now required by state law to do so, but had already been considering it.

"It will increase some of the costs that the jurisdictions are going to have to bear for the price of an election, but I hope it works out. I think more information is better and for those that were unable to get to our website or didn't use a computer, or those type of things, this will make it easier."

Only some voters will participate in the primary which will include any race with more than 2 people that filed for a position.

Moore says it does get complicated as they will now have to manage getting statements from candidates, or from people on local bonds, and that he thinks their focus should be on getting ballots out and returned in the most efficient way possible.

He says if you don't get one by July 22nd, reach out to the Auditor's office.
