Congresswoman Dr. Kim Schrier Reacts to Possibility of Roe v Wade Being Overturned

8th District Representative Dr. Kim Schrier is calling the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion that could lead to the overturning of Roe v Wade a massive step backward, saying the news has left her "devastated and angry."

In a statement released shortly after the leak was reported, Schrier said that women in more than half of the states in the U.S. would lose the freedom to make their most important healthcare decision and will be blocked from getting the safe healthcare they need.

The Sammamish congresswoman says the decision whether to become pregnant is one that impacts every element of a woman's life and the freedom to chart the course of her life.

Schrier added, "The government should NEVER be in charge of making personal medical decisions."
