Governor Jay Inslee announced Thursday that the state has essentially met its goal of 45,000 COVID-19 vaccinations administered per day.

Inslee said 1.7 million doses have now been administered and the state has averaged almost 44,000 doses given per day over the last seven days.

"We've had two days in the last week where we actually exceeded 60,000 doses a day." detailed Inslee, "To put that in context, when we started this we were doing about 13,000 doses a day. So this has been a remarkable acceleration of our vaccine program."

In regards to the difficulty many are having in registering for an appointment, Inslee added those frustrations are understandable and inevitable. The Department of Health is now reserving some mass vaccination site appointments for those who can only sign up by phone.
