The City of Entiat, the Entiat Valley Chamber of Commerce, and a group of citizens are spearheading an effort to get an ADA fishing and wildlife platform placed at the mouth of the Entiat River. The estimated completion date for the project is July 2021.

"Right now we're working on grants. We need to get a grant for about $20,000 just to get the engineers to come in to make sure everything is feasible, make sure we can legally put things with all the different permit process," said Dustin Wagner, coordinator.

The following step would be to get a plan drafted and a cost estimate from the engineer. The entities are working with PACE Engineers, based in Wenatchee.

After this initial step is completed, then the group would move on to secure a capital improvements grant to actually build the fishing platform.

"It'll bring more tourists to the area, it'll give people in the community that can't fish right now a chance to get out there and enjoy it," said Wagner. "And when fishing isn't open, it's also a very good wildlife viewing area."
